Jonas has been self employed most of his working career wearing many hats including farming and construction work. Jonas has been interested in prison ministry for many years. He participates in the annual Gospel Express North Florida Prison Crusades. He has also donated the parcel of land where the Gospel Express house is located. Since he lives next to the ministry house and he is gifted in construction he is the primary board member who coordinates maintenance and repairs for the house.
